WISHING YOU ALL A VERY BLESSED THANKSGIVING… A time to celebrate friends and family and be grateful for all that you have. The most important blessings aren’t things, but people. Be a blessing to those you spend the holiday with!
The new officers for 2014 have been elected, the schedule established, and we’re “ready to rock ‘n roll” into the new year already! Except… we need a “few” rally masters for our schedule. Won’t you members please look it over and check which one you’d like to do? Or call another member and “invite” them to do it with you! It’s YOUR chapter; it can only continue to be successful with YOUR help! Contact Becky Coulter, email@example.com.
It was late in coming … but we are FINALLY experiencing our “Monsoon” Season! Rains, rains, and more rains have been coming down all over the state. Are we happy or what? Actually, in some areas we’ve broken records on amount of rainfall in the month of July — even though most rains didn’t start until the middle of the month. So that’s a lot in the last couple of weeks. There’s also been some pretty damaging storms with amazing lightning and thunder, and unfortunately some flooding. Is that all part of that “when it rains, it pours” …? You’ll notice — from reading our newsletter — that the July rally experienced rains every evening in Flagstaff, but there were no complaints!
Here we are, first of July, and everyone’s still sweltering under terrible heat conditions that lasted through all of June in the 4-Corner states of AZ, CO, NM, & UT where most of our members reside. So many forest fires throughout the region, many taking out hundreds of homes, and sadly of all, losing firefighters in the blazes. Our “monsoon” season traditionally begins with the 4th of July celebrations, and we are praying that it will soon appear! Meanwhile, members are still managing to enjoy themselves — especially those traveling elsewhere in the country! And those of us attending the rallies are “keeping our cool” and having a great time as well! So come join us somewhere along the way … AND PRAY FOR RAIN!
We all should pause and express our gratitude to all those who have given so much for our country. Freedom is not “free” and too many have made the ultimate sacrifice to ensure we still have it. If you know someone who has served or is serving in the military, let them know how much you appreciate their service. Any one who has lost a loved one in the line of duty to our country needs to be reminded that their loved one may be gone, but the service they performed is not forgotten.
After you’ve done THAT … then get out there and have a great holiday weekend, whatever your plans are! Many of our members are on the road traveling — scattered from one end of this country to another, and beyond (one heading to Alaska, one in Spain, and who knows where else).
One thing Cuatro Estados ‘ members are good at: SEEKING ADVENTURES!
Come join us on one of ours!
We’ve just completed our April Tucson rally, and thanks to rallymasters Jann & Barry Engleman, explored places in this area we never knew were there! This is what “seeking adventures” is all about… and pretty much the theme of our chapter. Seems each month’s rallymasters find new and interesting places to go and see and do, even though we’ve been there before and thought we knew all about it! And of course the older we get, the more likely we WERE there before … but have just forgot! 🙂
SO COME JOIN US ON OUR NEXT ADVENTURE — Exploring Santa Fe, nearby Pueblos, cliff dwellings, famous restaurants, and more — May 6-10. We’ll be camping at Pojoaque Pueblo 7 miles north of Santa Fe. (See rally details under “Monthly Rallies”)
Our winter rallies have gone very well — January at Quartzsite AZ, February at Borrego Springs CA, and March at Benson AZ — check out details in our newsletters!
Now we’re gearing up for spring and upcoming rallies — April at Tucson AZ, May at Pojoaque (Santa Fe) NM, June at Ruidoso NM. Read about what’s planned under “rallies” and then sign up to attend!
We are ALWAYS seeking new adventures in new areas! If you have any suggestions, please contact Becky Coulter firstname.lastname@example.org or Rae Phillips email@example.com.
